THE
SENIOR
SAVVY

Empowering Seniors through Connections, Resources, and Fun.

The significant gap in how seniors access and engage with available resources and opportunities inspired the creation of Senior Savvy in January 2024.

During my time as a Community Relations Manager at Oak Street Health, I noticed that while resource fairs were well-intentioned, they were missing something. Seniors would wander from table to table, picking up brochures, briefly chatting with representatives, and then moving on. By the time they got home, their bags were full of information, but they could hardly recall who they’d met or what services they’d learned about. It just wasn’t enough.

Many seniors, particularly those from the “Yellow Pages era,” find these events overwhelming. They leave with a collection of flyers but little understanding of the services available or who to turn to for help.

THAT'S WHERE THE SENIOR SAVVY COMES IN.

At the heart of everything I do is a clear mission: To bring fun and information to seniors.

I believe that seniors deserve to be well-informed about the resources at their disposal, to feel connected to their communities, and, most importantly, to have fun. Whether it’s through a resource fair, a Fun Drum class, a lunch or dinner, or a dance party, Senior Savvy is all about enriching the lives of seniors in a way that’s engaging, empowering, and—above all—enjoyable.

MINI RESOURCE FAIRS

These events feature a select group of organizations. Each vendor gets a 10-minute presentation followed by a Q&A, giving seniors the chance to truly understand the services available. Afterward, they can take their time visiting vendor tables, asking questions, and forming real connections - offering seniors a chance to access valuable resources without the stress of larger, overcrowded events.

FUN DRUM

Cardio drumming is a high-energy, music-infused class that has quickly become a favorite among seniors. I often combine Fun Drum sessions with Mini Resource Fairs, providing sponsors with the opportunity to support an activity seniors genuinely enjoy.

In addition, I partner with home care companies, hospice providers, and senior service organizations to sponsor these classes at senior living, assisted living, memory care, and rehabilitation centers.

SENIOR LUNCHES & DINNERS

This is where businesses and organizations can connect with seniors in a more personal and meaningful way. Unlike big marketing firms that charge inflated fees to fill rooms with attendees. I personally visit local food banks, churches, senior centers, and community events to invite seniors who would truly benefit. I host these gatherings myself, ensuring they are more than just meals—they are experiences, complete with music, door prizes, and an engaging atmosphere.

SENIOR DAY PARTIES

Most recently, I launched Senior Day Parties, which have been an immediate hit. Our first event reached 100 sign-ups within a week. I quickly added a second date on March 11, which filled just as fast. These parties offer music, dancing, and socializing—simple pleasures many seniors haven’t enjoyed in years.
